Y6 Maths

Year 6 have been investigating units of measure.  They started out looking at length and measuring objects in the classroom and then they used weighing scales to measure the mass.

Reading scales and converting measures is a very important skill to have.

Y6 Local Walk

Year 6 enjoyed a local walk which including different parts of the curriculum.

Geography

Before the walk, the children had practised drawing sketch maps of the school.  For the walk, the children had looked at compass points and worked out where North was and then during the walk they continued to look at a compass and relate this to the map we were following.

History

The children learnt about different buildings around Wickersley, what they were used for and when they were built.

Mental Health

Sometimes, it’s just good to get out of the classroom and have fun.

Y6 Design and Technology

Y6 have been working extremely hard during Design and Technology lessons.  They have been designing a nightlight for a younger child.  Part of their design process was to do market research so they prepared questionnaires for the Y2 children.
