Well done!
What a beautiful day it has been today.
The sun shone down on the St Alban’s Gardening Club fund raiser at Winthrop gardens.
A huge thank you to Miss Nightingale, Mrs Bushby, Mrs Skelton and Mrs Booth for organising such a wonderful event today.
An amazing £800 was raised, which will go towards a new green house for gardening club.
Thank you to everyone who came to support the event, donated prizes for the tombola and made such beautiful cakes.
Calling all bakers! If you would like to enter your child’s baked goods then either let Miss Nightingale know or just turn up on the day.
The event opens at 11am and judging will take place at 11:30am.
The cakes will then be sold to raise funds for the greenhouse.
There will be music by Mr Thompson and friends. Plants for sale and Gnomes to adopt.
Please come along to support this event.
Thank you
Miss Nightingale
Here are our star gardeners for this term, they were rewarded for their great efforts and working hard. The seeds were sent to us from the Princes Trust to celebrate the Kings Coronation and to encourage our keen gardeners.
The garden is coming on nicely and we have some lovely plants and vegetables on the way.
If anyone has any plants that they wish to donate they would be most welcome.
Thank you
Miss Nightingale
Every Friday, Year 3 have been going in small groups to our school garden to help with deweeding, planting and general garden maintenance. There hard work has helped to make our school garden look more beautiful and ready for Summer! We have also been linking our gardening trips to our plants topic in science. Children have been considering what plants need to grow healthily and recalling the parts of plant while in the garden.
