Reading

We are pleased to announce a sponsored reading event that will take place from Monday, 15th July to Friday, 19th July. All funds raised from this event will be used to purchase new books for the school library.

The majority of the reading will be conducted during school hours. Children will have the opportunity to read during breaks and lunch, and additional time will be allocated throughout the school day during that week.

There are slight changes to FS/KS1 and KS2 but your child will be bringing a letter and a sponsor form (but not the progress chart). You can also see the other resources here:

Our aim is to recommend a set of books every half term and create a display to encourage children to read books they might not otherwise.

Not only do we have knew Primary Reading Books, we also have 2 new sections to our Secondary Reading Books: French and Games & Computing (albeit only four books but I’m looking to grow this category).

This booklet has been designed in order to help you and your child enjoy reading at home. It aims to provide you with clear information about learning to read and how you can help your child make progress.
