Tennis Stars

By Sport, Sporting Excellence, Year 4

A huge well-done to our four tennis stars, who represented St Alban’s, at Wickersley School and Sports College.

It was a challenging competition and our children played very well to secure overall second place. Well done!

By News, Sport, Sporting Excellence, Year 5

Year 5 had a brilliant day, taking part in the 1st DSAT Sports Festival. Over the course of the day, they had taster sessions for 17 sports, including basketball, curling and long jump. They all were absolutely fantastic and had a go at every single sport with 100% enthusiasm and energy!

Take a look at our photos in the gallery.

Top news for this week. The KS1 team went to an athletics competition held at Flanderwell. Mrs Jepson said that they all enjoyed the event and performed excellently. Jack came 1st in the javelin and we are really proud of him.  Also Harry came 1st in the running race with an outstanding time. Well done to all the children involved.

Sports Council Blog

By Sport, Sporting Excellence, Year 6

Our sports council have asked if they can write a blog on the website. So here are their words:

Hello sports fans, this is this weeks hot news. First, we had the Y3-Y4 boys coming second in the South Yorkshire football finals. They came so close and left with their heads held high. Also, Mrs Jepson said that their performance was outstanding.

Yesterday, Y5-Y6 team A did an outstanding routine in there advanced level gymnastics. They came second and nearly secured first place for the Rotherham finals. Team B advanced level came third with another outstanding performance and should be proud coming in this position.

Coming up

Coming up we have the athletics and I hope the students competing try their very best and give it one hundred percent. Also we have the Y4, Y5 and Y6 cross country South Yorkshire finals and I hope they enjoy it and try their very best.

Yours sincerely

Sports Council and Mrs Jepson
