Happy St Alban’s Day

By House Carmel, House Jericho, House Jordan, House Sinai, Religious Education, Uncategorized, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 5, Year 6

Today is St Alban’s Day

Our school sets huge value on the quality of courage so let’s take a moment to think about St Alban’s courageous act.

St Alban is venerated as the first recorded Christian martyr in England. His death came as a result of him shielding a priest to whom he had given refuge. It is in the nature of this story that it concerns one who gave his life for his values and beliefs.
Though a legend the story embodies something of the vulnerability that is required if we are to act in courage. Alban quite literally cloaks himself with the garment of the one he seeks to protect and, in doing so, takes his place.

Carmel’s Easter Treasure Hunt

By FS2, House Carmel, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5, Year 6

Carmel’s Easter Treasure Hunt was a great success today. We will announce the winning house in  collective worship tomorrow.

A huge thank you to the House Carmel’s Leaders. They organised the whole day and demonstrated their superb leadership skills.

The PTA rewarded all children with a chocolate egg- this was a welcome treat after the fast pace treasure hunt -in the cold Spring air!

Oliver Oliver!

By News, Year 3

We are very excited about performing Oliver to you this week! The programmes are ready and will be available to buy for 50p on the day. One per family initially, to ensure all children have a keepsake. Thank you to Mr & Mrs Jones for their help in the production of these.

Fearne so kindly made a celebration chocolate cake for myself and all the helpers! It is delicious – thank you too to Nonna who helped!

If anyone has a good camera and wouldn’t mind taking a few pictures for us please let myself or Mrs Tune know.

See you all on Thursday!

Carmel’s Book Sale

By FS2, House Carmel, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5, Year 6

Thank you for for supporting House Carmel’s book sale with your kind book donations.

The book sale went really well but has been cut short due to school closing. So when we return to school we will continue to sell books at break times.

We have a great selection of good quality books and most books cost 50p. All money raised will go towards buying new seating for the library area.

Thank you
