Read Write Inc. Phonics

To teach our children to read fluently we use Read Write Inc. Phonics. 

From Monday 23rd March, Ruth Miskin Training are streaming live RWI Phonics lessons at home.

Set 1 Speed Sounds at 9:30am and again at 12:30pm.

Set 2 Speed Sounds at 10:00am and again at 1:00pm

Set 3 Speed Sounds at 10:30am and again at 1:30pm.

Will it dissolve?

Do you know which materials will dissolve in water? Why not try this experiment at home with items you find in your kitchen cupboards.

We made predictions about a variety of solid materials and then tested them in room temperature water.

What will happen to the gummy bear?

This week, we started our science work by developing our skills in observing over time.  We measured carefully and observed gummy bears in different liquids after 3 hours, 24 hours and 48 hours.

We used water, salt water, sprite and vinegar. Our liquids were all at room temperature.  After 24 hours the gummy bears looked like this.

Can you work out which liquid the gummy bears have been in?  How do you know?
