The roles of both Chair and Vice Chair are elected by full governing body on an annual basis.

There are 3 main committees drawn up from members of the governing body.  A description of the committee along with its members is detailed below:

Finance & Premises Committee

The committee meets at least once per term. A full set of terms of reference covering the committee are in place, some items covered within the committee are as follows:

  • To ensure the proper and efficient management of all money available to the school
  • To review financial management policy and additional policies e.g. charges and remissions, lettings charges, data protection policy etc.
  • To receive outcomes of financial reviews
  • To monitor expenditure against the school budget on a termly basis
  • To support the aims and ethos of the school, focusing on the quality and needs of all staff employed by the school
  • To support the aims and ethos of the school, focusing on the quality and extent of the provision of premises and equipment

The committee meets annually to:

  • To establish and keep under review, in consultation with the head teacher, the school’s staffing structure, and ensure that any necessary consultation takes place before any amendments are approved

School Improvement and Curriculum Committee

The committee meets at least once per term. A full set of terms of reference covering the committee are in place, some items covered within the committee are as follows:

  • To support the aims and ethos of the school, focusing on the quality and breadth of teaching and learning;
  • To contribute to the review of the SEF in those sections relevant to the work of the committee;
  • To monitor standards and progress in all areas of the school’s work relating to children and their learning:
  • To work closely with the head teacher in preparing the Developing Excellence Plan, and to approve the priorities for development;
