Year 3 Plant Pollination

By 06/05/2021Science, Year 3

In science, Year 3 have been learning about the pollination process. To model this, we used cheese puffs to act as a our “pollen.” Our busy “bees” went from one white flower to the next to try and get the juicy nectar. The “bees” put their hands in cups of cheese puffs each time, covering their fingers with the fake pollen. When they went to the next flower, the orange “pollen” was transferred, staining our paper flowers. This was to show how insects/bees transport pollen from plant to plant, resulting in fertilisation.
