Y5 Book Busters

By English, Year 5

On Thursday, Year 5 enjoyed another Book Buster Session.  We shared our ideas about The London Eye Mystery, The Savage, Wolf Brother and Millions.

We had many ideas about the parts of the books that we enjoyed and why we enjoyed them. Fearne said that she was drawn into The London Eye Mystery book because of the blurb. She was intrigued by the question, “Has he spontaneously combusted?”    All the members of the Book Club agreed that Wolf Brother had an exciting blurb that made you want to read the book but the book did not match up to the blurb!

All the Book Busters loved the way the character in The Savage wrote his ideas down and they then came alive.

We agreed that the books were correct for Year 5 and we hope to raise enough money to buy some more copies.

Y5 Book Busters

At our second Book Busters session, we discussed Harry Miller’s Run and The Savage.

Harry Miller’s Run is about three boys and a girl who go on a run.  We would definitely recommend this book to Year 5 children.

We would recommend The Savage to Year 5 children and those who are older.  We enjoyed it because it has a character we have never met before.  It is a mystery and is so different from other books. We really enjoyed the part where things come to life.

We have now started reading new Book Buster books.  Look out for our recommendations next month!

Y5 Book Busters

By English, Reading, Year 5

Today, Year 5 had their first Book Buster session of the new year.  We really enjoyed sharing our ideas about the different books. Read on to find our recommendations.

We recommend London Eye Mystery because it is action packed and lures you in.  Make sure you keep reading past the first few chapters.  If you come across any issues, please share them with a grown up.

We would recommend Skellig to Year 5 because it is different from anything we have ever read before.  It feels real in parts and stirs up lots of emotions.  The book shows how love can make us stronger.

Y4 Book Club

By English, Year 4

Last week, Year 4 shared our love of books whilst enjoying a drink and a biscuit.  It was a great opportunity to talk about what we have enjoyed reading this year.  We can’t wait to choose our new books for next term.

Life Cycles

By English, FS1, Science

Foundation 1 have been learning about life cycles through The Hungry Caterpillar. They tasted different types of fruits and then created beautiful artwork about their learning.

Well done children.
